A PE-owned leading luxury jewellery client with presence in North America, Asia and Europe had its master data captured through multiple instances of ERP and outside of ERP, across geographies driven by the inventory, sales, customer, manufacturing and product development processes. Data captured in the internal ERP and other systems was incomplete, redundant and inconsistent due to evolving product categories and business processes.
Merilytics partnered with the client to understand the key business processes, current and future product portfolio, and the reporting requirements of the company to establish the “current state to future state” mapping of the Master Data. We worked with various stake holders across functional areas to help the business reach consensus on the Master Data structure. In addition, we cleansed the data to eliminate redundancies, errors and obsolete values, and created business rules to migrate the data from the current structure to the new master data structure. This revised design was implemented across ERP instances resulting in accurate data capture and reporting. The redesign streamlined business processes with clean data linkages across departments with clear ownership of the master lists and sustainable data governance framework.
Our comprehensive solution leading to the new Master Data Design ensured Senior Management had access to complete and accurate data from the business processes, leading to robust reporting and better data-driven decisions.
